Shrila Bhagavat Maharaj appeared in 1906 during a full moon day of Bengali month ‘ Jaishtha ' in the village Rudaghara in Khulna district of East Bengal. Appearance day of this Mahabhagavat was coincident with the appearance day of ‘ Daru Brahma ' Lord Jagannatha. In March 1935, Shrila Prabhupad along with his associates went to Rudaghara village for preaching. However Shrila Acharyapad met him in Gaya-dham in April 1935 and got attracted to the message of Srimad Bhagavat as heard from the holy lips of Shrila Prabhupad. In 1938, he received the title ‘ Vidyarnav ' from the ‘ Navadwip Dham Pracharini Sabha '. In 1954, he was elected as the secretary of the Gaudiya Mission. For next 28 years, under the allegiance of Shrila Bhakti Keval Audulomi Maharaj, he took part in various developmental activities of the Mission . In 1969 Shrila elected as the Acharya of the Mission and for about 10 years through his constant Hari-katha kritan he kept the current of Suddha Bhakti flowing. He left this mortal world in 1993, son after the shifting of the Mumbai Gaudiya Math from a rented house to its own acquired land. |
