Srila Bhagavat Maharaj appeared in 1906 during a full moon day of Bengali month ‘Jaishtha’ in the village Rudaghara in Khulna district of undivided Bengal. The appearance day of this Mahabhagavat was coincident with the appearance day of ‘Daru Brahma’ Lord Jagannatha. In March 1935, Srila Prabhupad along with his associates went to Rudaghara village for preaching. However Srila Acharyapad (Srila Bhakti Srirup Bhagavat Goswami Maharaj) met him in Gaya-dham in April 1935 and got attracted to the message of Srimad Bhagavat as heard from the holy lips of Srila Prabhupad. In 1938, he received the title ‘Vidyarnav’ from the ‘Navadwip Dham Pracharini Sabha’. In 1954, he was elected as the secretary of the Gaudiya Mission. For next 28 years, under the allegiance of Srila Bhakti Keval Audulomi Maharaj, he took part in various developmental activities of the Mission. In 1982 Srila Acharyapad was elected as the Acharya of the Mission and for about 10 years through his constant Hari-katha kritan he kept the current of Suddha Bhakti flowing. He left this mortal world in 1993, soon after the shifting of the Mumbai Gaudiya Math from a rented house to its own acquired land.
