Srila Jagnnath Das Babaji Maharaj

Srila Jagnnath Das Babaji Maharaj made his appearance about 250 years ago in an aristocratic family of village Konganda in Maynman-Sing District of East Bengal (now in Bangladesh). A disciple of Srila Madhusudan Das Babaji who lived in Surya Kunda, Srila Babaji Maharaj was distinguished among the Bhajananandi vaishnavas, and he was renowned as Vaishnava Sarbabhauma in the contemporary Vaishnava community.

He lived in Vrindavan for a long time and was famous as Siddha Baba (fully realized). Later he came to Sri Mayapur Dham for bhajan and he chose to stay at Kulia on the bank of the river Ganges. On seeing the birth place of Lord Gaurhari, he became so ecstatic in dancing that his stooping body (due to old age) stretched to 6-7 feet in height and he jumped 5-6 feet from the ground. He disappeared from this world in 1894 (Bengali year 1301, 13th day of Falgun).
